"Popular culture isn't a freeze-frame; it is images zapping by in rapid-fire succession, which is why collage is such an effective way of representing contemporary life. The blur between images creates a kind of motion in the mind."

Inspired in part by the Hockney Retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, I created this series of work--the Warburton Series-- which focused on the already significant role photography and time play in my work. I took a walk down Warburton Ave. in Hastings and shot almost one thousand photos. I often collage photos as maquettes to paint from, but in this case, I created digital collages as final images.
