"I work from memory, daydreams and a huge library of photographic images. Working in Photoshop or sometimes with printed photos, scissors and glue, I weave the images together. I am trying to create single images that collectively represent my subjective experience. Often I simply paint using the collage as subject, but sometimes I want to play with focus and I transfer pieces of the photo directly onto the primed canvas and then begin to paint."

Inspired in part by the Hockney Retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, I created this series of works--the Warburton Series-- which focused on the already significant role photography and time play in my work. I took a walk down Warburton Ave. in Hastings and shot almost one thousand photos. I often collage photos as maquettes to paint from, but in this case, I created digital collages as final images.
